ellwood associates Welcomes Neil Barratt

ellwood associates inc is happy to welcome new member Neil Barrett to our team of professionals. Neil will be working in the General Support Department and closely with Manager & Senior Consultant, Aaron Finlayson.

Neil is a trained Computer Support Specialist and has a diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology. As well, he is qualified as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE) and a CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

In his previous roles Neil has experience with both large companies and small businesses. As a Technical Systems Analyst with the Royal Bank of Canada, Neil worked with a technical support team to provide a test environment for RBC staff to train and test new applications. He also provided desk-side support for the maintenance of office desktops and servers.

During his time with Epson Manufacturing Canada, Neil was able to take on a leadership role in a team that provided support for the manufacturing and refurbishing of Point of Sale (POS) printers.

Overview

Backups are essential!  Your information, systems, infrastructure and other resources are the core resources of your office.  Backups help protect all those resources by allowing recovery from accidental or malicious events.

The backup part and process are often overloooked.  They are essential and very important during recovery but otherwise are simply background maintenance processing nearly unobserved by most staff.  It is important to understand what and how the backups are functioning.  It is equally important to ensure they continue functioning to provide the necessary safety and security.
